Only farmers with current California Certified Producer certificates can sell fresh fruits and vegetables, cut flowers, nuts, meat and eggs, and some other products.
Grocery and prepared food vendors must have a Temporary Food Facility Permit and/or Cottage Food Registration, as well as a Processed Food Registration, if applicable. If you are unfamiliar with permitting requirements, please reach out to us for assistance.
All participants must supply a Certificate of General Business Liability insurance.
Market farmers and vendors must participate in rain or shine in order to maintain the trust of our loyal, engaged shoppers.
We look for grocery and non-food items produced in San Diego, preferably sold by the grower/maker, in keeping with our emphasis on local farmers.
We have room for farmers and fishermen in various categories at all markets. Meat, poultry, date, and tropical fruit farmers are in demand.
Grocery products including jams and jellies, pickles, mustards, granola, baking mixes, quality grains, and dairy products are currently needed as well.
We have limited space for non-food vendors and look for original products, not resale.
We charge a fee of 10% of gross sales, with a minimum payment of $25.00. You will be issued Load Lists at the end of the day which will be returned to the Market Manager with payment.
All vendors participating in the Farmers Market agrees to pay $2.00 for the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) fund for each certificate at each market weekly. This fee will be collected at the close of every market with payment through the load sheet.
