Celebrate the Holiday Season and Support Local at the same time at the Cardiff Donut Dash! It is a family friendly morning open to runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and abilities.
Participants are invited to enjoy Cardiff’s amazing landscape and seascape with a run, jog, or walk on the rail trail, a scenic route along the ocean to the south, or up to Swami’s and back on the 101. Afterwards, indulge in the results of your hard work with a world famous, VG’s donut, and a coffee or cocoa in your commemorative Donut Dash mug!
All participants will be rewarded with a finisher’s donut, Donut Dash medal, a coffee or cocoa, and a commemorative event mug! Plus, you can feel great registering knowing that all proceeds from this event will go directly towards supporting your local community!
This is an open event, meaning there is no closed or official course marked in the community. Although we’d call this a 5K, we are encouraging everyone to go the distance they are comfortable going. If that’s a ½ mile, great! If it’s 5K, still great! With multiple options, it’s up to you to choose where you want to go - the beach, the coast, rail trail, the hills of Cardiff. Just be sure to follow the traffic rules and choose safe options where ever you go. Go where you want to go, as far as you want to go! We encourage runners to spread out and use as many courses as you can think of. (Be sure to practice social distancing and proper facial covering protocols while you do, thank you.)
In a further effort to make the Donut Dash compliant with local and state mandates, we have come up with a simple and fun way to register for the donut dash;

Sign up and register for one of the 15 minute windows offered over the course of 2 mornings (Saturday, Dec 5th & Sunday, December 6th). Limited number of slots will be open in each window, so register for your’s early.
During your time slot, stop by the registration area located at the Shanty in Cardiff to pick up your event medal, donut, coffee, and commemorative event mug.
That’s it! It’s that simple!
After your dash, be sure to spend time exploring businesses in Cardiff. Support local businesses by shopping small this holiday season. In the spirit of the Kringle Mingle, stop by the North Courtyard of Cardiff Town Center to take a photo with Surfing Santa by the Cardiff 101 Christmas Tree!
Participate knowing that you are supporting your local community at the same time!! All proceeds from the Cardiff Donut Dash will go directly to Cardiff 101 Main Street to support local Cardiff by the Sea merchants and to the 6th Annual Holiday Toy Drive for local children put on by local non-profit Run North County.
