Statement from the Cardiff 101 Mainstreet Board Regarding the Proposed 1% Tax Increase on the November Ballot

The Cardiff 101 Mainstreet Board wishes to address Proposition K, the proposed 1% sales tax increase that will appear on the ballot in November. As an organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for all our members, we recognize that this issue elicits diverse opinions within our community.

Our mission is to represent the interests of our entire membership, which includes businesses and residents with differing perspectives on this proposed sales tax increase. As such, Cardiff 101 Mainstreet will remain neutral on this subject, as it has traditionally done on all ballot measures.

We encourage all our members and the broader Encinitas community to stay informed about the potential impacts of this tax increase. We recommend that everyone review the details of the proposal, consider the arguments from both sides, and participate in discussions to make an informed decision.

Our role as a Main Street Association is to provide resources and support to our members, ensuring that they have the information necessary to make decisions that best serve their businesses and the community at large. We remain committed to advocating for a community-friendly environment in Cardiff-by-the-Sea and will continue to support all our members regardless of the outcome of this ballot measure.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
